The Living Canopy is a professional arborist service based in North Narrabeen, serving Sydney's Northern Beaches and surrounding areas. We offer the full range of arboricultural work — from routine pruning and hedge trimming through to complex technical removals, stump grinding and emergency response.
The business was founded by lead arborist Alex Price, who brings over a decade of hands-on experience across the UK and Australia. We're a small, experienced team — every job gets done properly, on time and safely.
We believe that trees deserve proper care — not just the cheapest or fastest fix. Where pruning is the right answer, we'll say so. Where removal is necessary, we'll carry it out safely and efficiently. Honest advice, every time.
Lead arborist — Alex Price
Alex Price has been working in arboriculture for over a decade, building a career defined by technical skill, safety and a genuine care for trees. His path into the industry began in the UK, where he trained, qualified and went on to co-found Watson & Price Tree Services in Kent — a company that carried out high-profile work on National Trust estates and complex private commissions.
Having spent years working on demanding projects across the south of England, Alex made the move to Sydney — eventually settling permanently in Narrabeen in late 2024. It was here that he founded The Living Canopy, bringing the same standards and approach he'd developed in the UK to the Northern Beaches.
Alex is an advanced climbing arborist, holding IRATA Level 1 rope access certification alongside his AQF Level 3 arboricultural qualification. He works on every job personally, ensuring the quality of work is never diluted.
Currently, Alex is studying towards the Diploma of Arboriculture (AHC50524, AQF Level 5) — a continued investment in professional development that reflects his commitment to best-practice arboriculture.
