Technique matters when it comes to hedges. Cutting at the wrong angle, cutting too hard into old wood, or simply using blunt equipment can result in dead patches, uneven regrowth and a hedge that never quite recovers its form. We use sharp, clean equipment on every job and work to achieve a consistently level, crisp finish — whether you want a straight formal line, a rounded top or a more natural, softly shaped appearance.
We trim all species commonly found in Northern Beaches gardens: Lilly Pilly, Murraya, Photinia, Box and Buxus, Camellia, native Banksias, Pittosporum, Viburnum, Escallonia and more. Formal shapes and topiary work are also available for clients who want something a little more sculptural. For large-scale commercial sites — body corporates, businesses, schools or parks — we offer scheduled maintenance contracts to keep hedges looking sharp throughout the year.
As a general guide, fast-growing species like Lilly Pilly and Murraya often benefit from trimming two to three times per year during the growing season, while slower-growing hedges may only need attention once or twice annually. We're happy to recommend a schedule based on your specific species and how you want your hedges to look. Whether you need a regular maintenance visit or a one-off tidy-up, all clippings are removed from site and the area is swept clean at the end of every job.
