A Second Life for a Lightning-Struck Spotted Gum

A mature Corymbia maculata was in rapid decline after a lightning strike. Rather than remove it, we reduced it into a habitat tree — reinstating the tree's own natural hollow and adding new ones for birds, mammals and microbats.
